I love summer!

Backyard living in its prime season!

We were relaxing in our backyard this weekend, lemonades in hand, kids playing, bbq grilling and chatting with friends when my husband exclaimed, “I love summer! I love everything about summer! Sunshine. Great friends. Delicious bbq. A cold beverage. It doesn’t get any better than this!” I have to say in that moment I couldn’t agree more. I love summer too. Here is what we made on our Napoleon bbq. Everyone agreed the recipe was a keeper. For all you bbq foodies out there, enjoy!

Saucy Pork Tenderloin
Sauce:
1/2c Ketchup
1/4c Water
2 tsp. Molasses
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp Cider vinegar
1/2 tsp Garlic powder
1/4 tsp Ground pepper

Rub:
1 tsp. Kosher salt
1 tsp Chili powder
1/4 tsp Garlic powder
1/2 tsp Ground pepper
2 Pork tenderloins
2 tbsp Olive oil

Instructions:
1. In a small saucepan whisk the sauce ingredients. Bring the sauce to a simmer over low heat and simmer gently for about 5 minutes, whisking occasionally. Keep warm.
2. Mix together rub ingredients.
3. Coat all sides of pork tenderloin with olive oil and season evenly with rub, pressing spices into meat.
4. Prepare grill for direct cooking over medium heat (350-450F).
5. Brush cooking grates clean. Grill tenderloins over direct medium heat with the lid closed as much as possible, for about 15-20min. Turn about every 5 minutes.
6. Remove from grill and wrap with aluminum foil. Let rest for 10-15 min.
7. Place on serving tray and slice.
8. Drizzle with warm sauce.
